By: James Gillispie, CEO, Gilly Property Management
Having done twenty years in the military, I know a thing or two about being disciplined and maintaining high integrity. The Air Force taught me many life lessons, but the most foundational lesson was the importance of the three core values of integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do. Those are the values that I emulate and expect the Gilly Property Management employees to live by. Additionally to those values, Gilly Property Management also acknowledges and enforces the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM) Code of Ethics and Standards. NARPM did an excellent job for the entire property management community by publishing thirteen articles of ethics, labeled below.
· Responsibility to protect the public
· Discrimination
· Responsibility to client
· Obligations to tenants
· Care of managed properties
· Handling of funds
· Areas of expertise
· Commitment to firm
· Relations with other property managers
· Truth in advertising
· Responsibility to NARPM & the profession
· Compliance & Enforcement
· NARPM Antitrust statement
Besides holding employees accountable to my high standard and the NARPM code of ethics, I also ensure Gilly Property Management personnel are adequately trained and licensed before handling your business. That means guaranteeing that the appropriate employees hold either a real estate salesperson or a real estate broker license from the state of Florida in accordance with the Florida Real Estate Commission. Furthermore, our 24/7 maintenance support is accomplished by all Florida licensed general contractors. I do this to ensure our clients can rest easy knowing we are professionally equipped to handle their properties. When I say I got your back, I mean it! There is no better team to handle your property.
